70cl / 48% - Finally, we've managed to get hold of this Yamazaki 1984! Sukhinder came back from a trip to Japan earlier in the year raving about this one, and since then it's started winning all kinds of acclaim, the latest being a Gold Medal at this year's International Spirits Challenge. The secret is the proportion of spirit aged in native Japanese 'Mizunara' oak casks as well as the American and European ones, apparently. Read more...
